Money makes the world go round. So why not get to know it before you earn it? Commerce is for those who are great with numbers and more numbers. Because rest assured, the most important numbers in this stream are not going to be 36-24-36.

The important areas in commerce and truly, those around which your future will revolve are Accounts, Economics, Taxation and Commercial Law. Though for junior college you will only have to deal with Accounts and Economics.

If you do take up Commerce, expect to analyse and calculate, study markets and financial conditions. So if the business world, marketing and Stock Market interests you, then Commerce is the way to go.

Percentages

Commerce colleges tend to be easier on your marksheet. The asking percentages are generally lower. So for an A-list Commerce college, anywhere above a 75% is usually expected. The colleges below that line too aren’t necessarily bad either. With Commerce, there’s always a way!

For FYJC and SYJC, there are a limited number of subjects. These prepare the base for any specializations like CA or CFA, you may wish to pursue.

Chartered Accountancy

Chartered Accountants handle everything from assessing tax liabilities to auditing companies to making huge salaries.

Company secretary

Don’t worry, you won’t be a secretary. Though you will be overseeing that the statutory obligations for your organization.

Chartered Financial Analyst

A CFA does and can do anything related to Finance. They’re magic like that. The course is a 3-year post graduation degree.
